The University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We always process your personal data electronically as well as in paper form in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the other federal and state-specific data protection regulations.

Collection and processing of personal data
The website operator collects, uses and discloses your personal data only if this is permitted by law or if you consent to the collection of data.
Personal data is any information that can be used to identify you and that can be traced back to you – for example, your name, e-mail address and telephone number.
You can also visit this website without providing any personal information. However, in order to improve our online offer, we store (without personal reference) your access data to this website. This access data includes, for example, the file you requested or the name of your Internet provider. Due to the anonymization of the data, it is not possible to draw conclusions about your person
Access data
We, the website operator or page provider, collect data about accesses to the website based on our legitimate interest (see Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO) and store them as “server log files” on the website server. The following data is logged in this way:
- Visited website
- Time at the time of access
- Amount of data sent in bytes
- Source/reference from which you reached the page
- Browser used
- Operating system used
- IP address used
The server log files are stored for a maximum of 7 days and then deleted. The data is stored for security reasons, e.g. to be able to clarify cases of misuse. If data must be retained for evidentiary reasons, it is exempt from deletion until the incident is finally resolved.

This website uses cookies for pseudonymized reach measurement, which are transmitted to the user’s browser either by our server or the server of a third party. Transfer to a third country:
In principle, there is no transfer to a third country outside the EU. If, in an exceptional case, a transfer to a third country takes place, this is done on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Newsletter subscription
The St.Spiritus- Socio-cultural Center of the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald offers you a newsletter in which it informs you about current events and offers. If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter, you must register this need by email at: st.spiritus[at]greifswald.de and a valid email address. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you agree to receive the newsletter and the explained procedures.
The newsletter is sent by the staff of the St.Spiritus – Socio-cultural Center.
Revocation and cancellation: You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time and thus cancel the newsletter subscription. After your cancellation, your personal data will be deleted. Your consent to the newsletter dispatch expires at the same time.
Criteria for determining the duration of storage:
Your personal data, which the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald processes for the purpose of fulfilling its duties, will be deleted or destroyed within a reasonable period of time after your request has been processed, in compliance with the legal retention periods.
Your rights:
You have the right to obtain information from the controller about the personal data concerned, as well as the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, as well as the right to object to processing.
